K’arsi Lavash & Bakery is an Armenian bakery with two locations: the original on North Verdugo Road in Glendale and a second on South Glenoaks Boulevard in Burbank. We built and installed the lightbox signs for both, so the two shops carry the same face on the street.
What we built
Round lightbox cabinets with a white translucent face, printed with the bakery’s logo: the windmill and wheat, “K’ARSI” in blue and “Lavash & Bakery” in gold, inside the scalloped blue-and-gold border. LED modules inside light the face evenly edge to edge, which matters on a round sign where the corners of a rectangular layout would normally hide the dark spots.
Why a round lightbox for a bakery
- The logo is round. A round cabinet lets the badge be the sign instead of a badge floating on a rectangle.
- It reads day and night. A bakery opens early; the sign has to work before sunrise.
- Two locations, one sign. Building both signs in the same run keeps colors and size identical, so a customer who knows the Glendale shop recognizes Burbank instantly.
How lightboxes are made
The cabinet is fabricated from aluminum, the face is cut from translucent acrylic or polycarbonate, the graphics are printed and applied, and the LED layout is designed for the shape. We wire and test every cabinet in the shop, as in the photo, and install it with our own crew. See illuminated and lightbox signs.
Permits in Glendale and Burbank
Glendale and Burbank are separate cities with their own sign codes; each illuminated sign needs its own permit. We prepared the drawings and applications for both locations.
