Prime Roses is a flower shop in North Hollywood with a dark, elegant interior: black ceilings, a chandelier, lanterns and a fireplace. The signs had to match. We made two: script channel letters on the storefront and acrylic letters on the reception counter inside.
Outside: script channel letters
The shop name in its own script typeface, fabricated as illuminated channel letters and mounted on the facade. Script letters are the hardest kind to build, since every connected stroke has to be formed by hand and lit evenly through thin curves, and the payoff is a sign that looks like the brand rather than a generic font. At night it reads down the street; by day the letter faces carry the color.

Inside: acrylic letters on a backlit counter
The reception counter has a translucent front panel lit from behind. We cut “Prime Roses” from acrylic in the same typeface as the storefront and mounted the letters on the panel, so the glow comes from around the letters rather than through them. Customers see the name the moment they walk in, and it photographs well in the low light the shop is designed for.
Why the two signs match
A customer who finds the shop by the lit letters outside sees the same letters at the counter. That repetition is what makes a small business look established. Both signs came from the same design file, so the proportions and spacing are identical inside and out.
