Canali is an Italian menswear house, and its Beverly Hills store was fitted out to match. Our part of the build-out was the interior wall wrap, a full-height printed graphic across the main wall, and the exterior signage. These are the notes from the install.
What we produced
- Full wall wrap. A large-format tropical-leaf pattern printed on wall vinyl and installed across the main wall of the store, floor to ceiling, in matched panels so the pattern runs continuously with no visible seams.
- Exterior signage. The store’s name on the building, produced to the brand’s specification.
Installing wall graphics in a luxury store
A wrap on a plain wall is quick; a wrap in a store like this is not. The wall was primed and inspected first, since any bump shows through. The panels were printed with overlap, aligned to the pattern and applied one at a time, working around track lighting, outlets and the soffit. Air is worked out as each panel goes on, and the edges are trimmed at the baseboard and ceiling line. Everything is done before the fixtures arrive, so the crew has the floor to itself, as in the photo.
Why wall wraps work in retail
A printed wall changes the whole room for a fraction of the cost of wallpaper or built finishes, and it can be changed for a new season or collection without construction. For brands that update their store concept regularly, that flexibility is the point.
